Hope you had a lovely weekend! I spent my weekend shopping, eating well and visiting a couple Christmas markets. I also saw the new Paddington movie with Milka - a perfect Sunday movie :D.
These pics, however, are from last weekend when Essi and I visited Holy Heimat Christmas market at Neue Heimat (near Warschauer strasse). The market was the best I've visited so far in Berlin (and I have visited many). It was quite typical "Berlin-style" market. The venue was an old building full of graffiti but the fairy lights made it look all cosy and christmassy ;). They had lots of street food stalls, so unlike at a normal Christmas market here, you could choose anything from whiskey ribs to Korean bibimbab. Not to forget the nice assortment of different cakes and desserts. The ice skating ring and design market were a nice extra! Obviously a DJ was playing some hipstery tunes by the bar.
We also made a note that the people there were pretty. This was after a few glasses of Glühwein though so I'm not sure how reliable this statement is.
Lately I've been busy with mainly three things: Christmas parties, crafting and being sick. We also celebrated Finland's Independence day with a couple of friends by watching President's party while sipping some sparkling wine and stuffing ourselves with sweets.
Last year I made a "christmas town" advent calendar for my niece with Ben. This year we did something different. Every day Isla will get a card with a picture I d
rew and the name in Finnish and in German ;).

Finally a little sneak peek into our christmas party ;)
The title of this post is a bit more dramatic translation to the Finnish expression "Itku pitkästä ilosta". I'm of course referring to my nice weekend after which I got sick :P.
On Friday we had Zalando's Christmas party. Me and couple of colleagues went to my place beforehand to take a powernap, eat a quick snack and to change and prepare for the night. The theme of the party was Noël en blanc and therefore the dress code was to wear something white. The party was great :)!

On Saturday I woke up with barely no voice and a headache (I blame the hairband I was wearing :p). Anyways me and Ben had a nice brunch and in the evening we went to Lucia Christmas market at Kulturbrauerei. I was especially enthusiastic about this one because I knew they had some Finnish mulled wine and poronkäristys (which is kind of a reindeer stew with mashed potatoes and lingonberries). I filmed a short video (well of course I did). Excuse my voice there...
Sunday was very relaxed. We ate a nice breakfast at home, watched movies and read. Btw, I recommend Monster university as a Sunday movie, very entertaining :). I was feeling a bit under the weather and my throat was still sore but in order to feel productive I went to gym. Ssooo today I woke up with even worse throat ache and I had to stay home. But I feel better now.
Anyways it was a very nice weekend and I'm starting to feel quite Christmassy ;).
Sorry for not posting for a looong time! Long story short: Ben messed up with our WiFi and it took ages to get it back! So I've been living offline life for almost too weeks now. It's been pretty refreshing! The only downside was that I couldn't blog, but I did lot's of other stuff like crafting, writing (other than blog), reading, cleaning, cooking, doing sports, and best of all; I went to bed super early every evening!
Here's a little sneak peek of what I mean with crafting... It has become more like a tradition that every year I make someone an advent calendar for Christmas. This year I made it of course for my lovely niece, Isla! She's only 1,5 years old so I made this little town and I put little toys, notes, stickers and chocolate inside the houses. There is also a story included. It's about little Isla-sticker who has lost some of her stuff, her pets and her good friend Marjaana-sticker, hahah...So she needs to find them before Christmas... ;)
